Why give monthly?
You make a greater impact and help these boys grow. The Bacolod Boys' Home shelters and nurtures boys up until the age of 16 [even more for special cases]. Their needs span many years and require continuous support so that the foundation may continue the program for their benefit.
Where does your money go?
Home and Healthcare
Your donation feeds, clothes, shelters, and provides for the basic daily needs of over 200 indigent boys living in the home. They are housed according to age in 6 cottages with a separate mess hall and kitchen. A clinic provides medical care.
Education
Your donation also provides education so the boys eventually become productive citizens living in society. There are 14 school rooms within the home offering primary and secondary education, an administration office, and separate work places to teach computers and vocational subjects, like automative repair, electronics, and carpentry. The boys are also trained in cottage industries such as poultry, piggery, vegetable growing, bakery, and candle making. The school has 24 teachers. In addition to the 200 boys living in the home, another 400 indigent boys from depressed neighbouring communities are also educated in the Boys' Home school.
Sports and Leisure
The Bacolod Boys' Home has an open-air gymnasium where the boys can engage in healthy sports activities like basketball and volleyball. A field doubles as a soccer and baseball ground. An auditorium hosts cultural events, giving the boys a chance to develop artistic skills.
